Stellen Sie sich folgenden Emailverkehr vor:

17.4., 04:30, weixi: Dear Tanel, we have to set the content of our workshop...

17.4., 04:35, Tanel: Sorry for the late reply, I had some extraordinarily busy days and had to postpone answering further day by day (and now answering this at 4am). Here are the proposed topics, please tell me whether that was what you had in mind - if needed I can adjust this a bit. Note that the proposed workshop currently consists of two of my presentations and time for lunch and Q&A. If you'd like some other special guest to take active role in that session, then I can only deliver one of the presentations, leaving more time for others. Or we could leave the other half just for a pure hacking session about any performance/troubleshooting topic that comes up and see how it goes...

Titel: Troubleshooting Some of The Most Complex Performance Issues I've ever seen

In this workshop, Tanel will present two case studies of some of the most complex performance issues he has seen (to date of course). These problems involved multiple components such as the database, OS issues and even bugs. In both of the cases, the initial symptoms pointed to something completely different from the actual root cause, and a systematic troubleshooting approach had to be used to find out the real cause of the problems.

17.4., 04:40, weixi: ... yes, also here in Austria it’s about 4am ;o) Anyway, if we have to extent the night or day for things we do, we simple do ;o)

@ Workshop - program is good > I would incorporate the workshop character (ask > change the plan), as we saw it last time (if OK for you?); could you pls send some technical checks/informations so participants know a little bit more upfront what is planned to do?

17.4., 05:10, Tanel: If you'd like it to be more hands on - less slides, more pure hacking, based on what people want, I can do that as well. When we did this thing last time (Anm.: http://www.aoug.at/Event/58) - did attendees have their own computers to or just watched my demos? I think I will be operating entirely in sqlplus again, so people should be familiar with it and know their way around the basic DBA_ and V$ views ...

Just trying to think about what should be the theme - I mean I can either spend all time showing presentations or all time just in sqlplus (with no presentations whatsoever) or something in between.... So with an 1-hour lunch in between - we have around 2 hours for the workshop, right?

If you'd like to get a more free-form workshop, then maybe this instead of the presentations:

Titel: Tanel's newest scripts and tools: How to get the most out of Oracle instrumentation (ASH and v$ views)

I can write a description too, but the title pretty much says it. The attendees should know how to use sqlplus and also know basic DBA_ and V$ views.

17.4., 05:22, weixi: Hi Tanel, @ Workshop - content is clear; concerning the time: We plan to deliver some fingerfood for lunch, so you can have 3h w. no formal break needed. We did this in the past and that worked very well. OK for you?

17.4., 05:37, Tanel: Yes - ok! ... erwarten Sie sich einen hochgradig interaktiven, Hardcore Tuning Workshop, praxisbasiert – mit allem, was Gott verboten hat. Aber doch möglich ist und hilft ;o)
